I am writing a paper and need help understanding what social workers do?
Social Workers do a wide variety of things and despite what you may have heard, do not always work with children and families. Social Workers are advocates, teachers, therapists, helpers, interviewers and much, much more. They work with all ages, all income brackets and all types of people in order to help them accomplish goals, better themselves and their lives and receive services that can aid them in doing those things. You can also check out the National Association for Social Workers online for a wide variety of resources and more information on all that social workers do.
I am not a good writer? How do I learn to write better?
The key for every great writer is to first become a great reader. Read! Read about whatever interests you and read as much and as often as you can. The more you read, the more you expand your vocabulary and your mind and this is what allows you to broaden and strengthen your own writing skills. You can also practice creative writing by journaling, writing on random topics or making up stories about strangers you pass on the street. The best way to write more and strengthen your skills is to keep at it and do it as often as possible!
What are important elements to speech writing?
In order to write a great speech, you should first start with a topic you are passionate about, if at all possible. It is easier to grab the attention of your audience, ward off nerves and make a point if it is something you feel strongly about. Second, use a great opener. Consider a captivating story or a photo you can display that might stir up the thoughts and emotions of your listeners. Third, do your research. Find out what makes your topic unique, worth-while and interesting and sell it with information that is user-friendly and unforgettable.
