Question:

How will you help me improve on my SAT Math score?

Clay C.
Answer:

Just about everything I wrote above about ACT Math also holds true for SAT Math; the tests are meant to be hard, but they're never impossible. With some hard work, review, and practice, anybody can earn a great score. I earned 800s on the Math section of the full SAT and on the SAT II Subject Test, and as your tutor, I will help you develop the skills and strategies needed to find success.

Question:

How will you help me get better at AP Calculus?

Clay C.
Answer:

Believe it or not, nobody is naturally good at calculus; the people who succeed at it are those who have the diligence to work hard and the humility to ask for help when they need it. I know what it's like to struggle at calculus, and I know how to improve and become successful at it. I earned 5s on the AB and BC sections of the AP Calculus exam in high school, and I even earned an A in Multivariable Calc last semester at Vanderbilt. As your tutor, I will help you see the patterns and learn the strategies necessary to become great at calculus.

ACT

Question:

How will you help me improve on my ACT Math score?

Clay C.
Answer:

From personal experience, I know that ACT scores (on the Math section in particular) can be improved dramatically with just a little bit of guidance, focused review, and practice. My first try at ACT Math didn't go all that great, but by the time I was done, I earned a 36 and got every question right. Twice. The ACT will never ask you a question that you aren't completely capable of figuring out; I know the skills and strategies you need to be successful, and I know how to communicate them to you effectively.
