Why is Human Geography and important subject?
The combination of physical and political accounts of the world and peoples who have inhabited it are studied in Human Geography as a means to gain insight to the reasons cultures are how they appear today. By studying Human Geography, a student can understand why their culture dresses, worships and eats in their own way while someone in a neighboring country does it all differently. It could be due to a mountain range that prevented their two cultures from mixing hundreds of years ago. Overall, it is an important subject because it will teach a student to understand and honor other cultures with knowledge and awareness.
Why does the majority of World History focus on Europe and its influences on other countries?
As the phrase "The victor writes the history" indicates, Europe has expanded into the majority of the globe and became a prominent world power during the second half of the millennium and, therefore, has had control over how history is written. Since Europe forces its military and governmental factors onto other peoples and lands, many of written accounts from the subdued groups has been lost and replaced with the invading European legends, cultures and works. It is not because of favoritism that European countries are included as a main focus in world history, rather, it is due to losing other accounts of history from different cultures during the Imperial Age.
When can I tell if a comma should go before or after a word such as "but" or though" or "rather"?
When using an introductory phrase, such as "although", the comma will go after the introductory phrase and where there is a natural pause in the speech. When using a term such as "rather" in the middle of the sentence to differentiate between two topics, the comma will go before, as well as after, it in order to indicate a change in the direction of the communication.
