## Questions

### Subject: Pre-Calculus

How does pre-calculus study help those who do not desire a career relating to math?

I often find that humanities, business, or digital media students oppose the concept of mathematics as a whole because they believe that its skills do not apply to their career field. However, I would argue the opposite-- pre-calculus study is undoubtedly essential to overall intelligence and understanding. Pre-calculus teaches a way of logical thinking that allows individuals to approach complex problems from a variety of perspectives. I feel that students should keep an open mind toward pre-calculus study and should potentially even consider calculus as a successor.

### Subject: Trigonometry

Why does math commit an entire course to the study of triangles?

Trigonometry, the study of triangles, is essential to one's comprehensive comprehension of mathematics. Triangles have a unique beauty in that they possess symmetries which are not found in any other geometric conception. It makes sense that the triangle is the strongest geometric composition! Additionally, trigonometry teaches essential mathematical concepts like sine, cosine, and tangent which ultimately shape our understanding of calculus.

### Subject: Writing

How can writers utilize grammar to convey meaning?

I believe that rhetorical grammar constitutes a uniquely effective tool that writers often overlook. In fact, many students feel anxiety toward grammar because they feel that it consists of a set of rules to follow while writing. In my opinion, conscientious writers should examine closely grammatical patterns that convey strong meaning. Therefore, grammar should not be taught as a technique to memorize but rather an important component of crafting an intended argument.
