Question:

What happens with currents in the circuit, when you stop the brush less electrical motor?

Tim P.
Answer:

Electrical motors from electrical schematic point of view are inductive coils. There is a section in our subject which is called linear electronics, which teaches you about the linear circuits, one of which is inductive coil. Once you close a current supply to the coil, it becomes a current source with current value same as it had when power was supplied. As a current source - if circuit has high impedance, as a result of Ohm's law: I=U/R, voltage level can go up significantly. That's why in motor circuits suppression diodes are added - to deal with inductive spikes. Electrical motors from electrical schematic point of view are inductive coils.
