What qualifications in ECE do you have?
From 6th to 12th grade, I focused on a specialty program through ECE. I was taught everything from the domains of development to lesson plans and classroom policies and procedures. I have a whelk of knowledge of everything from prenatal care to early elementary education.
How would you help a US History student in the levels in which you are qualified to teach?
Throughout my teacher training, I spent a large portion on developmentally appropriate practices. Although these are mostly seen in the pre-school setting, I believe they extend far past that. In order to help a student succeed in younger grades is completely different to helping a student who is in high school succeed. From my training I would devise a plan in which the tutoring the student receives matches to what they are educationally capable of.
How would you help a student struggling in Algebra learn to understand the material and help with test taking?
Algebra is tough for many students that don't have a strong math background. From tutoring, I would break down a problem into easy, simple-to-follow steps and help the student fully grasp the concept of the steps that lead to the correct answer. I believe that in order to truly understand something, one must first see it in it's totality. When it comes to test taking, I would help the student through a variety of problems covering test concepts. From the concepts, I would answer any questions that the student may have, along with creating a plan of tackling difficult questions.
