Question:

My assignment requires a minimum of 1000 words for an essay. How can I check to see how many words I have currently written?

Ashley L.
Answer:

That's a great question and there is a very simple way of finding out how many words are currently in your essay! At the top of your Word document, click on "Tools" and then "Word Count". A small window will pop-up and tell you how many words and characters are in your document. You can continue to check it as you write more and more. Hope this helps!

Question:

I want to have multiple Excel columns (all individually labeled) underneath one big label (cell). How do I make the one big label cell go over all of the individually labeled columns?

Ashley L.
Answer:

This is an easy fix! Select all of the cells above the individually labeled columns by holding down your mouse and dragging your cursor. Once all of them are selected, click on "Format" and then "Merge Cells". You may also have an icon shortcut at the top of your Excel sheet that looks like two cells next to one another with two arrows pointing for them to join together. This should merge the cells into one large cell. Now this cell should operate as one large label for you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Question:

What are some tips on studying when taking an online course?

Ashley L.
Answer:

Online courses are much different than being physically in class. Here are a few tips of how to study for online courses: If you have a digital copy of the textbook, highlight the important sections. There are usually tools that will let you jump back and forth between highlighted sections. This can help you immensely when preparing for tests or completing homework. If it is an open book test, use the "find" function on your digital textbook. It can usually be found on the settings/options panel. This will significantly cut down on your answer time. Read and study as if you were physically in class. If the tests aren't open book, you better be ready for them. No cheating just because the teacher can't see you. Hopefully these tips help you when studying for your next online course!
