Encouraging and Assisting You in Your Path to Success
Tutor Satisfaction Guarantee
Hi! My name is Laurie, and I am a well-educated, creative and positive person who is also a wife and a stepmom to two younger kids and one young adult. I'm a natural helper and I love to be busy. In my spare time I like to enjoy time with family, design items on Zazzle, practice calligraphy, herd our crazy cats, and keep house (yes, I actually enjoy chores)! I look forward to helping you with your assignments/projects.
I have mostly taught in church and here at home (helping with homework). I have great confidence in anyone who is in the process of learning - I am certain that everyone is capable of far more than they know or imagine.
1987 - 1991
DBA Social Media Magic, Owner
2010 - Present
I started this freelance creative services side business in 2008 but didn't really do as much with it as I could have until 2010. My favorite part of Social Media Magic is knowing that I'm helping businesses to do what they need to do online to gain the exposure they require while the owners get back to doing what they do best. Work is strictly per diem, which is why I'm seeking work on a more steady basis. I specialize in Facebook business pages, website design (sans coding), social media and business consulting, as well as traffic driving.
American InfoSource, Court Abstractor
2014 - 2015
I loved this job! I visited local courthouses to research and obtain probate information, and performed detailed data entry onto the AIS website. The only reason I left was because the company changed the way they collect data, which meant they no longer required outside research.
ADA Transcription, Transcriptionist
2013 - 2014
Executed various audio transcription projects for this remote business with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Franklin & Marshall College - Floyd Center for Opinion Research, Interviewer
2010 - 2013
Conducted detailed local and national opinion surveys for a variety of clients by phone with simultaneous data entry. Completed several typing and bulk mailing projects, as well as detailed, lengthy transcription projects using Express Scribe. Earned Above Average and Excellent performance evaluations, including Outstanding Interviewer for five key surveys. Employed here as Laurie Brackin.
Davenport Design & Advertising, Website Content Writer and Researcher
2011 - 2012
Performed detailed company research on companies which were our site design customers. Included website and business proposal writing and editing.
TNS Media Intelligence (now Kantar Media), Creative Services Specialist
2003 - 2008
Viewed entire television commercials, created at least 16 ad titles hourly. Trimmed, photo-boarded, and wrote creative, detailed description of national and international television and radio commercials (15 and 30-seconds each, averaged 150 words per commercial, 75 commercials hourly) in accordance with dynamic company guidelines using Media Watch. Utilized strong written communication skills while working independently with minimal supervision. Proofread and/or edited copy as needed; forwarded for placement on website for client access.
