About Zachary

About Zachary
My name is Zach Lyman, a soon to be graduate of Benedictine University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English. While my degree may be in English, I have also taken over twenty hours of History courses at the college level. I did so not because I had to, but because I enjoy the subject areas of History and English so much that I wanted to improve my knowledge and skills in both areas. Teaching Experience
For the past four years, I have worked in the Student Success Center as a Peer Writing Tutor at Benedictine University. Here I was given the opportunity to work with college-aged students to improve their writing skills across all subjects and writing styles. I assisted students with revising and editing student's works as well as provided guidance to improve the quality of their work. In addition to tutoring college students, I also have experience creating, developing, and implementing lesson plans for the middle and high school levels...

Work Experience

Work Experience
Benedicitne University, Student Ambassador
2014 - Present
I educate potential freshmen, transfer, and graduate students on all of the programs and student life at Benedictine University through campus tours. I am constantly answering questions from both students and their parents about the university and college life itself. My primary goal is not only to inform but to make sure both parents and students are comfortable enough with me that they feel free to ask any questions they like. This also means I am a face of the university which means I must conduct myself accordingly.
Benedicitine University, Writing Tutor
2013 - Present
I work with college students one on one to improve grammar, vocabulary, analysis, and structure of their writing. I would first go through the paper to make sure all parts of the prompt were correctly answered and structured, and then I would go through it a second time to edit any grammatical errors.
