While both Mitosis and Mieosis involve the division of cells, Mitosis is used for cell division and replication whereas Meiosis is used to create gametes in organisms that use sexual reproduction. Additionally, while Mitosis and Meiosis have similar processes, Meiosis undergoes a second division of the cellular contents (including DNA), producing four daughter cells instead of two.
