About Sam

After receiving my BA in mathematics at New York University, I worked as an actuarial analyst at Mercer LLC in New York and passed the first two actuarial exams (probability and financial math). After a year, I then began a math Ph.D. program at UC Irvine intending to specialize in probability. I have since left UC Irvine with my MS in mathematics and will soon be interning at a startup that uses machine learning to predict stock prices.

Teaching Experience

As a mathematics Ph.D. student at UC Irvine, I had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant (TA) for several courses including Calculus I and II, Math for Economists (part Linear Algebra and part Multivariable Calculus), Differential Equations, and Intro to Abstract Math. I've privately tutored in Calculus, Probability, Mathematical Statistics, Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations.
