The psychologists performing this experiment decided to stimulate a part of the rats brain, this being the amygdala. In doing so, the experimenters observed how the rats got more and more aggressive as stimulating of the amygdala proceeded. Thus, coming to the conclusion that stimulation of the amygdala resulted in angry, aggressive behavior.
