Explain the Sonata form.
The Sonata form is a type of composition in three sections (exposition, development, and recapitulation), where two themes are explored, as long as they adhere to set key relationships. Sonata form is very popular and forms the basis for much classical music.
What is one main functional difference between chloroplasts and mitochondria, and why do plants need both of these organelles?
Chloroplasts convert light energy into sugar (glucose), while mitochondria convert glucose into ATP, an even smaller form of energy. Simply, chloroplasts build nutrients, while mitochondria break down nutrients. Plants, like all other organisms, need usable energy (ATP) to survive and grow. Plants do not eat other plants or animals like us humans do to obtain their glucose, so they need to create their own glucose through photosynthesis.
