Question:

What is the Order of Operations and why is it important?

Answer:

It's very important because it tells us the specific order that we have to follow when carrying out our math operations. We use the acronym PEMDAS. This means that we do our calculations for all numbers that are in parenthesis first, then we work with our exponents, then we do multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. The order that we solve in is extremely important. If there are no parenthesis in our math problem, then we skip to the exponents, and if there are no exponents present then we continue with multiplication, division, addition, and finally subtraction.

Answer:

An outline is utilized because it's an effective writing tool that allows us to organize and structure our ideas into a cohesive written format so we can answer the topic/prompt we've been given.
