The French were one of the main reasons the patriots were able to defeat the British. The key thing they did was block the British boats from leaving at Jamestown which caused the British to surrender. Also the French provided money, weapons, and valuable men to fight.

The Philip's Curve was created by Nobel Prize winning economist A.W Philips to describes the relationship between inflation and unemployment. Philips said the two were inversely related so as inflation increased unemployment decreased and vice versa. It is not accurate, however, because Philips did not consider the phenomena of stagflation where inflation and unemployment increase together. Philips created his curve based on data from the 1940s and 50s where inflation and unemployment did follow the trend he described; however, the stagflation period of time in the 1970s discredited his curve
