The human body is a complex organism. Name the largest organ on the body and the layers it contains and give an explanation of all the layers? Why is this organ important to the human and how does it aid in our instinct survival mechanism?
The largest organ of the human body is the skin. The skin has THREE layers : Epidermis, the dermis and the deeper subcutaneous tissue. The dermis contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles and sweat glands. The subcutaneous tissue is made of fat and connective tissue. The epidermis aids in the humans instinctive survival mechanism due to it being a protective layer. It is waterproof but also creates own skin tone. Without skin we would have nothing to protect our organs and our live expectancy would be minutes.
