I grew up in Dallas, Texas, went to college in Walla Walla, Washington, and now I am teaching English and continuing my Chinese studies in Shantou, China. I have a wide range of interests, and I have tried many different things--I love to explore new possibilities. Some of my interests include dancing, singing, horseback riding, photography, mindfulness, and outdoors activities. Academically, I am very interested in Chinese language and culture, the psychology of gender and race, environmental conservation, and journalism.
I am currently teaching English to art students at Shantou University in China, halfway through a one-year contract. I am a certified Zumba instructor and have other experience with dance, so I also teach a dance club at the University. There, students can practice their English in a unique way outside of the classroom.
