About Ryan

About Ryan
I'm a native Chicagoan who has spent the last ten years living in L.A., Korea, China, and Taiwan—working as some form of teacher in all of them. I'm in the final few months of earning my doctorate (Ph.D.), but I come from a working-class background, which I like to think has helped me develop skills to explain things well and break down complex ideas.

Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
Currently finishing up my Ph.D. in comparative literature and philosophy, I've taught high school full-time for several years in every humanities subject (English, history, philosophy, writing, literature, art history, religions, etc.). I work as a college professor, and for five years I was a graduate student TA at the most diverse college campus in the country, so I'm eager to work with a wide range of folks from different cultural and economic backgrounds.
