How difficult is it to change careers after 10 years?
While this can seem a frustrating at times, many people can successfully find work in a different field if they do their homework and prepare ahead of time. One might expect to take a step back in position or salary in order to break in to a new career, but it is often worthwhile in the long run to have a more satisfying career. Depending on your original and new career paths, you might even have a leg up because you have already developed skills that younger applicants will not yet have.
Why do psychologists study animals?
While there are many specific answers to this question pertaining to specific studies or species, psychologists often study animals as a model for humans because animals can be kept under much more controlled conditions than humans can be. This allows researchers to focus on the treatment or condition that they want to test. Other studies use animals, often in natural environments, to learn more about how we evolved to be the way we are today.

While both hormones and neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that act on receptors, there are four major differences between them: (1) Hormones are produced by endocrine glands while neurotransmitters are produced by neurons. (2) Hormones travel far, through blood while neurotransmitters act on an adjacent neurons. (3) Hormones act much more slowly compared to neurotransmitters. (4) Hormonal action works on a gradient, neurotransmitter action is all or none.
