I don't understand the remainders in division. How does it work?
Sometimes when we divide, there is something left over. It is called the remainder. For example, there are 7 pieces of taffy to be shared between 2 children. 7 cannot be divided exactly into 2 groups - each child gets 3 pieces, and there is 1 left over. 1 is the remainder. 7/2 = 3 R1.... 7 divided by 2 equals 3 remainder 1.
