Cultural diffusion is when beliefs, social activities, or products are spread throughout various ethnicities, religions, or cultures usually through the contact of one people with another. One example is the use of Indian numerals used in western civilization. Indian numerals were introduced as Muslim traders traveled between India and Europe.
Describe three types of learning styles and provide an example of how each can be used in the classroom.
Learners typically are audio, visual, or kinesthetic. Audio learners learn best from information provided in a way that they hear it. Podcasts and music provide information in a way that they audio learner can process information best. Visual learners benefit from printed materials such as tech manuals, PowerPoints, or other materials where they can read the information. Kinesthetic learners need to physically do something to solidify a concept. Physical movement such as dance, moving around a room to stations, or manipulating materials, in math class for example, help the learner connect the concept with the movement. A lesson using a combination of these styles will provide a good the opportunity for all types of learners to grasp material presented in a classroom.
