What is APA style and why do I have to write in it?
The American Psychological Association developed APA writing style to be used in their journals and other publications. Many universities have adopted it as a stylistic template for a variety of majors. Proper citation within your paper is important because it gives previous authors due credit for their work, and it allows your reader to verify and access materials you used in your research paper to support your ideas.

What are scholarly/peer reviewed articles?
You may sometimes see these two phrases when searching for articles. A scholarly article means that it is coming from a source such as an academic journal and is usually written by an expert in that particular field of study. Most academic journals have a process called a "peer-review" meaning that before an article gets published it goes before a board of other professionals in the field to ensure it's accuracy and validity.
