Question:

Hi, I need to make a thesis statement for this book I'm reading for class. I don't know how to do this, can you help me?

Answer:

Hello! I can definitely help you with that. I'm glad you came to me, the thesis is the heart of any successful paper. It determines what will be in the body of your paper, and what you're going to research. First, did your teacher specify that your thesis had to be about a specific topic? If not, then I can help you narrow down what you would like to prove in your paper. That is what your thesis statement does. It sits at the end of your introductory paragraph and lets the reader know what you are going to be showing them throughout the paper. For example, if your book is The Cat in the Hat, then you could choose to prove that The Cat is an imaginary friend that Sally and her brother invented due to boredom while waiting for their mother to come back. You would then need to choose specific instances in the story that provide evidence for your case. One such instance could be that the house was perfectly clean and everything was miraculously back to normal before the mother walked in the door. You can say that this would have been impossible had there actually been a Cat in there ruining the house. Another instance could be the fact that their fish was talking to them as well, and he normally doesn't do that either, only when The Cat is around. You can say this is the children's imaginary representation of their conscience. Anything that you can provide evidence for, can be used to help create your thesis statement. Let's talk about the book you are reading, the characters, the plot, and anything you have learned so far. Then we can move on to choosing a thesis based upon evidence in instances throughout the book. Ready to begin?

I need help with an essay I have to write on Hamlet. Here is the question: Analyze Prince Hal. What is his character like and what are his motivations. Be sure to use at least three examples found throughout the play.

Answer:

Hello, I am happy to help you with your assignment. The first part to figuring out where to start is to decide what your thesis is going to be, what the statement is that you're going to provide evidence for in your paper. For example, if you think that Hal is a deceptive person, you would need to choose quotes that help show that character flaw of his. Once you know what to look for, it's easy to pick it out through another quick reading of certain passages that made you choose that characteristic in the first place. I can help you to narrow down these passages, lay them out in proper essay format, provide a compelling argument, and close down the paper nicely, all with the perfect citation at the end. Are you ready to work together and get started? I am ready when you are!

Answer:

Hello! I would be happy to help you. I would like a bit more information about your assignment. Which course is this for and what is the specific question you are looking to answer? There are many subtopics involving research on Elizabeth I and narrowing down which one you are looking to find information on will be extremely helpful. Once I know if you are focusing on her reign, or her politics, her childhood, etc., I can help you get your Lit Review started on the right foot. Looking forward to working with you!
