Question:

Evaluate the following expression: 10÷2-4×3²

Answer:

P parentheses E exponents MD multiplication and division left to right AS addition and subtraction left to right 1) We don't have parenthesis so we will start with exponents. 3² means that our base of 3 is multiplied 2 times: 3² = 3×3 =9. We get 10÷2-4×9 2) Next we do multiplication from left to right, 10÷2 and 4×9. If we divide 10 into 2 equal parts, we get 5 for each part, so 10÷2 = 5. And 4×9 is technically 9+9+9+9 = 36. We get 5-36. Remember to bring down the symbols you have yet to use. 3) We do addition or subtraction ( in this case) from left to right 5-36, or 5 take away 36, or -31. A trick to know if it will be a negative or positive number is to see what you have more off. You have +5 and -36, do you have more positives or negatives? More negatives. What is the difference 31 and it is negative... -31

Question:

What is the process that involves physically deconstructing a competitor's product to determine how it is put together? A) Syndicated Research B) Market Research C) Marketing Intelligence System D) Customer Research E) Reverse Engineering

Answer:

The answer is E) Reverse Engineering , it is the physical deconstruction of product to parts. Syndicated Research is general market research, not for specific client or product. Market Research is the research of current market conditions including competition and customer hobbits and needs. Marketing Intelligence System is a database of general market research. Customer Research is customer specific research focusing on needs, wants, demographics, psycho-graphics and consumer behavior.

Question:

Solve the compound inequalities and graph the solution set. Make sure to write the solution in interval notation. -11≥ -3x+2>-20

Answer:

1) Since we first need to solve for x, let's subtract the 2 from all sides. Remember that in Algebra, we have to make sure we keep balance, so to eliminate 2 from the middle part of the equation, we have to subtract is from all tree parts of the equation. I'm going to put -2 in parenthesis so we will remember that it is something we're working on right now. -11(-2)≥-3x+2(-2)>-20(-2) we get -13≥ -3x+0>-22. Remember that positive 2, take away or minus 2 is 0, and anything plus 0 is itself, also note that we do not take away 2 from -3x because they are a coefficient of -3 and variable x, and are not "like numbers" to -11, +2, and -20 which are constants. 2) We have to get x alone so we have to disconnect it from the coefficient of -3, the way we do it is by dividing. Remember that -3x is actually -3*x, we have to do the oposite of multiplication, which is division. And, to keep balance, we have to divide all parts of the equation by -3. [-13]/(-3) ≥ [-3x]/(-3) > [-22]/(-3), I added brackets to remember to treat them as a unit. [-13]/(-3) is 13/3, [-3x]/(-3 ) is x because the negatives cancel out and 3 parts of 3 makes a whole, and [-22]/(-3) is 22/3. VERY IMPORTANT: since we divided by a negative number, we have to flip the signs, out ≥ becomes ≤ and out > becomes < . Our solution is 13/3≤x<22/3. We have solved the equation. 3) To address other arts of the question: We need to graph the solution set. Let's graph 13/3 and 22/3 on a line. <...........13/3.......22/3........>, since x is in between those two numbers the solution is for x is between 13/3 and 22/3 <........13/3xxxxxxxx22/3........> since relation ship with 13/3 and x is that 13/3 is less than or equal to x, we would use a bracket [ or a solid dot ● to plot it on the line graph. Since the relationship with x and 22/3 is x is less than but not equal to 22/3 we would use a parenthesis or a hallow dot ◌ to plot. <........[______).......> <........●______◌.......> 4) we need to write the solution in interval notation. For this we can use brackets and parenthesis to show what the values/solutions are and if the solution included [ or excluded ) and we get [13/3, 22/3)
