Question:

What is a thesis?

Answer:

A thesis is the core of your entire paper. It should be a notion that your reader would be reminded about throughout each paragraph of your essay. A good thesis would be a clear statement that is straightforward, and would preface the rest of the essay in a large overview that shows your ability to convey ideas in a succinct and focused manner.

Answer:

Outreach, keywords and a specific target audience are the most effective ways to drive up the sales of a start up from scratch. By participating with numerous online groups that share similar goals and target audiences, you can form liaisons that are beneficial for collaborations or networking on the long run. Target keywords that are associated with marketing your project also help hone down the number of people who would be exposed to your product, yet this target audience is relevant to your product, and places your store in a niche category with less competitors.

What is the "art of imitation" in modern Chinese art? Please elaborate on the creations of Zhang Da Qian.

Answer:

Chinese modernity is not completely novel but is deeply derived from, and enriched by the past. Zhang was an exemplar modern artist who turned to tradition and history for inspiration, because he saw that China’s recent past did not suffice to create new pivotal contemporary work. This exemplifies the idea of “innovation within tradition” whereby artists learn the basis of old masters and apply the conventional artistic skills to compose their own creativity — often through experimentation. As Fu & Stuart acclaim, Zhang grasped the balance between convention and modernity, as he goes back in “China’s art history in search of neglected styles” and revives them through imitation. Zhang’s colorful painting style is derivative from Tang dynasty drawings in the Dunhuang caves that he copied. By doing so, he learns about the details, lines and colors that inspire him to create paintings of his own that are imbued with spirituality. Zhang was praised for it when imitating Dunhuang Tang dynasty paintings as critics believed that the artist is able to deliver the spirit of the original piece. This practice is therefore a learning process to becoming one’s creative self. It revives old traditions, while keeping Chinese art connected and closely tied with its history. In order for Zhang to recreate ancient styles with a modern, relevant take, he must master its techniques by copying, to be able to apply it skillfully into his own works. Therefore, “innovation within tradition” and the practice of imitation go hand in hand to create great works of art like those of Zhang’s.
