What is the difference between private and public sectors?

Answer:

The biggest difference between public and private sectors is who they serve. Private sectors mostly serve themselves trying to make profit from what they offer. The public sector however serves the public's (or community's) needs.

Question:

A patron comes to the desk and asks if we have Twilight in. How do I proceed?

Answer:

The first step is to not assume you know what the patron wants. You should always ask for additional information such as the type of material, fiction vs. nonfiction, author name, etc. I assume the are looking for Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. But they may actually want Twilight by Erin Hunter. In this case I would ask if they are looking for a book or movie. I would verify that what they are looking for is about teenagers and vampires. If they are looking for books in Stephanie Meyer's book series, it would be best to also confirm that they want book number one. Lastly, be sure that the item is available at your location before stating that you have it.

Question:

What is the difference between grey and gray?

Inactive
Melissa P.
Answer:

There isn't a difference between grey and gray beyond the spelling. Both are accepted to convey a color between white and black or a dull mood. The spelling differences boil down to geographic location. If you are in the United States use gray. Think A for American. Otherwise use grey, which is common among those in the United Kingdom.
