Question:

How many electrons does a Carbon atom need to reach a full valence shell and what would it's formal charge be?

Inactive
Nick S.
Answer:

Carbon is located in the 4th column on the Periodic Table which indicates that there are 4 valence electrons present in the neutral C atom. In order to fill it's valence shell it must have a total of 8 electrons in its shell. In order to get to 8 valence electrons it must acquire 4 more electrons. With 4 more electrons added Carbon will have a charge of -4.

Answer:

A bacterial chromosome is a circular chromosome with one origin of DNA replication while a human chromosome is linear with multiple origins of DNA replication. Linear chromosomes also have centromeres and telomeres in their structure.

Question:

Given the points (2,5) and (0,-3) on the same line, write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form along with the equations of one line parallel and perpendicular to this line.

Answer:

Noticing that you are given two different points on the same line you can solve for the slope of the line. After solving for slope you can use this along with one point and produce an equation in the point-slope form of a line. m=(-3-5)/(0-2)=4 y+3=4(x-0) After rearranging the equation to slope intercept form you get: y=4x-3.. A parallel line will have the same slope but different y-intercept: y=4x+5 A perpendicular line will have a slope that is the negative-reciprocal of the original slope: y=(-1/4)x-3
