What were some of your favorite activities when you were a child?
One of my favorite activities as a child was making bracelets with my cousins. I really enjoyed it because I would not only get to spend time with my cousins, but also because I was able to make something for them. As a child, I loved spending time with others and in my world, making bracelets was the most fun it could get! I also enjoyed reading as a child. I would beg my mother to take me to the library just so I could look through the pictures in the english books. I knew that one day I would be able to learn what those symbols written on the pages meant.

Isadora! Isadora! Isadora! Discuss some of the ideas and outside forces that influenced Isadora Duncan? What are some characteristics of her work?
Isadora Duncan was highly influenced by nature, water, and Greek ideals. She was born in California by the sea, therefore the water and waves intrigued her and became a large part of her works. Solar plexus was one of Duncan’s main focus; waiting to move from deep within herself. Because of this, Isadora Duncan’s work was very internal. Duncan was very interested in freeing up the body so that it could properly express what was necessary; therefore, her works were often performed in very loose clothing. Another characteristic of Duncan’s works was that her choreography had a basic and universal vocabulary such as hopping, swaying, skipping, etc. She used gestures as a means of expression and she did not believe in training through technique.
