### Subject: Geometry

If a right triangle has sides a, b, and c, with a = 10 in and b = 13in use the Pythagorean theorem to find the length of side c.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2 10^2= 100 13^2= 169 c^2= (269) c = sqrt(269) = 16.4 in

### Subject: Statistics

67, 95, 92, 78, 85, 82, 56, 76, 91, 89 Find the mean, median, and range of this data set.

The range is 39. 95-56= 39 The median is 83.5. 85 and 82 are the two middle values and their average is 83.5. The mean is 81.1. The sum of all ten values is 811 and then that is divided by 10.

### Subject: Algebra

If a recipe calls for 3/4 of a cup of sugar and 1/3 of a cup of flour how much of each ingredient will you need if you want to double the recipe?

You will need 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 2/3 of a cup of flour. This is found by adding 3/4 and 3/4 and then turning the improper fraction into a mixed number. The same is done to find flour by adding 1/3 and 1/3.
