Question:

Literature is made beautiful through individual interpretation. What is your favorite book, and why?

Answer:

One of my favorite literary works is The Stranger by Albert Camus. The book is an exploration of the philosophy of the absurd, and centers around the main character Meursault's purposelessness. You walk through the same mundane, lifeless motions Meursault experiences and only after murdering a man does he find purpose. In a prison cell as dark and cavernous as his mind, Meursault faces the death penalty and finds meaning in saving his own life.
