Question:

Why should you learn Serbo-Croation?

Answer:

While Serbo-Croation isn't a very well know language, it does have similar words, grammar rules, and pronunciations to a variety of Slavic languages. By learning basic grammar rules, how to read and write, and how to speak Serbo-Croation properly, you expand so many horizons. By learning this language, it makes things easier when it comes to traveling in different countries with a Slavic and connecting to family members that speak the language becomes a possibility.

Question:

In your opinion, what is the worst mistake to make when writing an essay?

Answer:

To put it simply, I believe the worst mistake to make is assuming that the audience understands and knows exactly what the writer is saying. Often times, beginner and experienced writers make the mistake of writing down exactly what they're thinking. While their train of thoughts may make sense to them, it may not make sense to others. This problem can be counteracted by making sure you explain new terms well, proofread the writing multiple times, and by having someone peer review it and give constructive criticism.

Question:

What are methods one can use to practice effective communication?

Answer:

It is extremely important to be able to communicate with others in every wake of life. To be able to do so it is important to practice communication through written and oral practice. Written can range from creating a well worded email to writing an essay that is meant to convey an idea or information. This sort of practice gives one a chance to learn how to communicate without all the benefits of one-on-one communication, such as infliction, tone, and body language. Oral practice is extremely important as well because it prepares us for important events involving communication. I believe that the best way to practice this is by putting yourself outside your comfort zone, because once you are able to speak in front of a group of strangers comfortably you can speak in front of colleagues, peers, and family comfortably. It is also important knowing the topic you're speaking about well enough to be able to improvise responses, because memorization often fails us.
