Questions
Subject: Korean
I heard Korean is one of the hardest languages for English speakers to learn, is that true?
When it comes to the layout of the language, Korean is very different from English. Whereas English sentences are structured as "Subject Verb Object", Korean is structured as "Subject Object Verb". This can make it difficult to think and speak naturally. However, it is not impossible. With practice, your brain will adapt to switching between these two grammar structures making it easy to pick up Korean.
Subject: College Admissions
Do my test scores and GPA matter when applying for college?
While doing your best to score high on standardized tests and having a high GPA will definitely benefit you in the college admissions process, many colleges are turning to a more holistic application review. By demonstrating what makes you unique and what sets you apart from other applicants in your application through extracurriculars and a really well thought out essay, you can market yourself to these universities despite test scores. Remember, you are not a number. You are a person!
Subject: English as a Second Language
Can my accent ever be modified or improved?
Yes! Learning to sound like a native speaker is not an easy task, but it can be achieved with mouth exercises and with thorough explanations on how to shape the throat, mouth and vocal cords to sound more natural.
