The Watsons want to buy tile for the kitchen in their new house. They have budgeted $1200 for flooring. If their kitchen is 275 sq ft, what is the most they can spend per square foot on flooring?
$4.36 per sq foot. 275x=1200 Divide on both sides to isolate the variable. 1200/275 = 4.3636.... x=4.36 (I rounded down since there isn't enough in the budget to pay $4.37) To check my answer I multiplied 4.36 by 275 and got a product of $1,199 leaving them $1 below budget.

Carson owes his mom $75. He plans to pay her back by mowing lawns making $7.75 per hour. Knowing that 8 * 10= 80 he estimates that he will be able to pay back his mom after working for 10 hours. Is his estimate reasonable why or why not?
Yes, his answer is reasonable. Carson rounded up, but only 0.25 per hour. 0.25 * 10 is equal to $2.50, so he would make only $2.50 less than $80 which would be $77.50. This gives him enough money to pay his mom and have $2.50 remaining.
Subject: World Geography
Describe the geography of Switzerland. What affect does Switzerland's geography have on its tourism, agriculture, and other industry?
Switzerland is a small landlocked country located between France and Italy. Approximately 60% of the land area is mountainous giving very little area for agriculture, and limiting the other resources available for industry. The small area available for farming is utilized mostly by small family run dairy farms making dairy items such as cheese and chocolate popular commodities in the country. While the areas mountainous terrain isn't suitable for farming, it does welcome year round tourism. Hiking, climbing, biking and overall exploring are excellent summer travel options, and the Alps are famous for attracting winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world. Lastly, despite the limited amount of resources available in Switzerland they managed to focus on taking imported materials and transforming them into high quality exported materials. The Swiss depend on international trade and are one of the richest nations in the world. Clocks and watches are some of the Swiss' most expertly engineered products.
