What is the best way to improve the depth of your vocabulary?
I find that reading short stories is very useful as it not only exposes me to new vocabulary but it also allows me to see the words in a context which reinforces my understanding of the words.
Subject: English as a Second Language
In part 2 of the IELTS speaking test you are permitted one minute to prepare some notes before speaking, what is the best use of this time?
I would use the time to ask myself questions about the topic, such as who, what, where, when, why and how and then make brief notes regarding each of my answers, giving myself enough materials to talk about for the alotted time.
Can you tell me the meaning of the idiom "To see eye to eye" and demonstrate its use in a sentence?
To see eye to eye means you have the same opinion or agree with someone. For example, My brother and I see eye to eye about the future of our economy.
