The Cushing's Triad are 3 clinical features that may be indicative of an underlying neurological injury & increased ICP. These 3 features include: bradycardia, increased blood pressure (with a widened pulse pressure), and irregular respirations.
Explain the main functions/unique features of mitochondria.
Mitochondria are unique organelles, in that they are self-replicating & contain their own DNA, which are also only inherited maternally. These organelles are the main site for ATP synthesis within the cell & play a crucial role in cellular metabolism.
What are the various types of bone cells?
There are multiple types of bone cells found within a typical bone. These include osteocytes, which are the mature cells that maintain bone tissues; osteoblasts, which form the bone matrix; osteogenic cells, which are stem cells; and also osteoclasts which work to breakdown & resorb bone.
