How do I create a header in Word?
Click on the 'Insert' link at the top of the page. Once you are on that menu, 'Header' is just to the right of center. Click on it to open the 'Header' menu. It will give you several options to choose from. For example, if you are just inserting a page number, the one called Blank may be perfect for your needs.

How do I read a textbook?
Start out by breaking your reading assignment into 10-page sections. Have a highlighter, pen, and paper or notecards handy. Starting with your first 10 pages, skim the headings and look at any charts or pictures included with the text. This will give you an overview of what that section is about. Then, go back and read the full 10 pages. Don't worry about highlighting or taking notes at this point, just read. After you have done that, go back to the top of the section and highlight what you feel are the most important phrases (but don't highlight the whole passage). Also highlight or note things in bold like definitions, dates, or other key elements. Now is also a good time to create questions about what you read and try to provide answers to those questions, or to take general notes on what you read. This gives you a starting point for review as you prepare for a test.

What is the best database to use for my history paper?
One of the best databases for history is JSTOR because it provides access to journal issues for as long as a particular journal has been in existence - even if it started publication in the 1700s!
