What is IF Function in Excel?
To perform the logic test IF function is performed. It checks whether certain conditions is true or false. If the condition is true, then it will give result accordingly if the condition is false then the result or out-put will be different. For example, you select the cell, and you want to display that cell as "Greater than five," when value is true (=5 or 5) and "less than five" when value is false (<5). For that by using IF condition you can display result. =IF (Logical test, value if true, value if false) =IF (A1>5, "Greater than five, "Less than five")
Calculate the length of side C of a triangle if you are given the lengths of side A and side B. Side A = 5 Side B = 12 (use Pythagoras' Theorem)
Start with: a^2 + b^2 = c^2 Put in what we know: 5^2 + 12^2 = c^2 Calculate squares: 25 + 144 = c2 25+144=169: 169 = c2 Swap sides: c2 = 169 Square root of both sides: c = √169 Calculate: c = 13
Answer = -5 PEMDAS (parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction) First, we will divide by 5 on both sides of the equal sign. x+10 = 25 divided by 5 x+10 = 5 Then, we will subtract 10 on both sides of the equal sign. x= 5 - 10 x = -5
