If a vehicle is completed a journey in 2 hrs at an average speed of 30 mph, calculate the total distance covered by that vehicle.

The speed of a vehicle is considered to be the distance traveled in the specific time taken for the journey. As such this can be stated as speed = distance / time. Therefore in order to the find the distance traveled the formula must be transposed to make "distance" the subject. This is done by shifting "time" from the denominator by multiplying "time" on both sides of the equation which cancels time on the right side of the equation and places it on the left side. The equation will now look like this: speed x time = distance; therefore 30 mph x 2 hrs = 60 miles.

The degree to which students engage the instructional material of a lesson on any given day or for any period depends on several factors. Three of these factors include: readiness, attitude and interest. A student's prerequisite knowledge and skills determines his/her readiness in learning new concepts. A student may present either positive or negative attitudes towards learning certain concepts. Attitudes are difficult to alter in students as a student's attitude is an intrinsic quality that affects learning. Finally, student interest is also very critical as some concepts stir up curiosity in students whilst others may not. Often, students tend to have a lack of interest in learning concepts that are abstract and seemingly difficult to apply in their perception reality.

If the mass of a block of an unknown material is 20 kg and it volume is measured to be 5 cubic meters, what would be its density?

The density of any object is defined as the mass per unit volume of the object i.e. mass/volume. Therefore the density of the block is 20kg/5 cubic meters = 4 kg per cubic meter.
