Explain Racemates and the importance in chemistry
Molecules which have a chiral centre will have a racemate which is a configuration of the same molecule which is slightly different due to the movement of bonds. Racemates will have the same structural configuration but may exposure different chemical properties e.g one may be more reactive than the other
Discuss the biology of the lungs in a patient with COPD
There are many functional and biological changes in the lungs for a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In many different parts of the lungs, including bronchial s, alveoli and the cilia. The mucus movement in the lungs is greatly reduced which in turn increases the chance of bacterial infection in the lungs.
