I was born and raised in WV, lived in PA for five years where I worked at the Carnegie Science Center, but moved to NC to pursue a Master's Degree in Maritime Studies. Through that degree, I have been fortunate enough to be trained in underwater archaeology and artifact conservation as well as maritime history. I currently teach Middle School Social Studies in North Carolina. My one major hobby is living history, where I portray a character from the early 18th century and educate the public on life at that time. I am also a new first-time mom.
At the Carnegie Science Center, my job was to educate the public (usually, but not always, children) in all manner of science-related topics. You can find them here: http://www.carnegiesciencecenter.org/
During my graduate school career, in addition to writing my thesis, I worked as a teacher's assistant which required tutoring sessions to be held for the college freshmen as well as higher level history courses.
I currently work as a Social Studies teacher at a Middle School where I teach/have taught World History and North Carolina...
