Two events are independent so we have: p(1st yellow and 2nd yellow)= P(1st yellow) *p( 2nd yellow) P(1st yellow) = 3/(4+5+3)= 1/4 Since we replace the block, the probability of the second one is also the same. Now we can compute the p(1st yellow and 2nd yellow) as below: p(1st yellow and 2nd yellow)=1/4*1/4= 1/16
