When writing an argument, what is the most important component?
The most important component in an argument is the debatable, defensible, compelling, and nuanced claim. Without a sufficient enough claim, the rest of the writing and argument will be weak. The trick to a great claim is to not stick to just one "side," but provide boundaries instead of staying with one extreme or the other.

Throughout the novel, Fahrenheit 451, how does Ray Bradbury build tension between characters, scenes, and situations?
Throughout the novel, Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury builds tension by creating suspenseful scenes. For example, during the scene when the woman burns herself and her house of books, Bradbury chooses to make Beatty count down from 10 before they burn the house themselves. On this page, it can be seen that the writing in between each number counting down is also the process of the woman taking out an "ordinary kitchen match" and saying her last words.
