How will I ever be able to pass this test? I can't remember all of this stuff!
My Objective as the tutor is to instill confidence while also providing study skills. These are a few of the questions and I would ask the student: What do you love to learn? What is your hobby? What do you like to read? How can this (subject) enhance your knowledge of your favorite topic? OK, so you love "Basketball" and you know all of the names of the players on a team. How did you learn all of that? You can obviously learn names and dates - you know all of that. Let's start by writing down the names of the people you need to learn. Ask why they are important to the subject? What did they DO or Not Do? Using a pen, write, on a 3"x5" cards the names of each person on the blank side. On the back side write 1 thing that person did. Write where s/he did that thing. When was that thing done? What was the result? How do these people connect to each other?
