Explain how the Treaty of Versailles in the First World War contributed to the beginning of the Second World War.
The treaty laid the entire blame for the war on Germany, which resulted in extremely high war debts. The loss of provinces, as well as economic difficulties, make it relatively easy for Hitler to justify invading nearby countries and using the Jews as scapegoats for the economic problems.
