Question:

How does protein synthesis work?

Inactive
Alexa R.
Answer:

Protein synthesis begins with an unwinding of the DNA stands in the nucleus. Free floating base pairs (nucleotides) meet the open base pair from the DNA strand and form an mRNA strand. The mRNA strand leaves the nucleus and meets a ribosome in the cytoplasm. The ribosome transcribes the mRNA strand and "tells" the tRNA what the anticodons are. tRNA recruits the corresponding amino acids, which form peptide bonds. After reaching a stop codon, the process ends and the polypeptide chain of amino acids, or proteins, are completed.

Question:

What are the differences between anthropology in Europe and in the US?

Inactive

Answer:

In the US, anthropology includes archaeology. In Europe, archaeology is often considered a different discipline, and sometimes is even grouped with geology. This means that in the US, archaeology and cultural anthropology are considered to be closely linked. This is likely because archaeology in the US concerns the cultural heritage of Indigenous Peoples still alive today, while many people in Europe do not have the same spiritual connection to archaeological finds. While the approaches are slightly different, the two communities are still able to communicate well.
