Question:

How do I figure out what x is? 7+x=18

Inactive
Casey R.
Answer:

Thank you for reaching out! First, you need to get x alone on one side of the equal sign. The equal sign means "the same," therefore whatever you do to one side, you need to do to the other. If 7 is being added with x, you need to do the opposite, or inverse operation, to remove the 7 from both sides of the equal sign. The opposite of addition is subtraction, so you need to subtract 7 from both sides and you will be left with x=11. Please let me know if you need help with anything else.

Question:

What is 3x4? How do I figure it out?

Answer:

Great questions! The "x" sign stands for multiplication. You could read this problem as "What is 3 groups of 4?" It's helpful to draw out the problem. You need three groups [], [], []. Inside each group you need 4 items, here we'll use tallies. [1111], [1111], [1111]. Then you count the tallies, altogether there are 12. Therefore, 3 groups of 4 equals 12, or 3x4=12. Please let me know how I can help you further, or if you have any other questions.

Question:

Can you help me find peer reviewed articles on the use of technology for preschool aged children and their brain development?

Answer:

Absolutely! Through Google Scholar, I used the search query "effects of technology AND children AND preschool." This led to quite a few results so I filtered them based on year published to only include the most current. From here we can get more specific based on which direction you would like to go. Are you looking for articles that address the child's behavior, ability to meet development milestones, language development or something else? Please let me know and I will be happy to assist you further. Also, if you have access to school databases like ESBSCO, you can repeat the same query that I typed above to see what you have access to through your school subscription. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will answer them within 24 hours.
