Emily is currently a graduate student at the University of Memphis' Psychology Department, but, lucky for you, she took a slightly circuitous path to get there! Emily started her undergraduate career at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she was majoring in biomedical engineering. After two years of study, she realized engineering wasn't for her, and transferred back home to Memphis to study psychology. Emily sits on the Board of Directors of the Memphis Crisis Center.
While living in D.C., I tutored for, and then led, the George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science's (SEAS) Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) tutoring program that worked in cooperation with the local D.C. public school, the School Without Walls. I was in charge of coordinating a group of 10-15 undergraduate tutors who assisted high school students in one-on-one or small group tutoring in science and math topics ranging from introductory biology to multivariate calculus.
