Inactive
Kaitlin K.
Answer:

There is no right or correct process to draft a paper. There are many different ways to do this and it all depends on your process. Some people have to write out the entire paper before they work on refining or editing the paper and others refine and edit as they go. Anyway that works for you is the way to go! Just be sure to give it a final look over before submitting it.

Question:

What are archetypes? What is an example of an archetype and how it is used in storytelling?

Answer:

Archetypes are symbols or motifs that are used throughout stories - they can be used to give the text meaning and provide a deeper cultural understanding of the text. Archetypes are shown with repeating images (such as continued descriptions of a place or object), symbols (such as an apple or sword), or patterns (like the common use of character types or a quest). They provide a common reference point and allow the reader to connect and gain a deeper meaning of the story based on previous experiences with those archetypes. Archetypes have been around since the beginning of storytelling and are common ideas that will most likely remain accessible for many more years. An example of a common archetype is the hero. The hero is typically on a quest in order to prove themselves, win the love of someone else, or even solve a simple question relating to their life. The hero is a common archetype in stories - appearing in superhero stories, fantasy, and even in classical literature.
