How do you design a logo?
First, a meeting with the client will be needed to determine any general direction for the design or to determine the what the logo needs to achieve. Colours should also be discussed at this point. It is recommended to have no more than two colours. Next, it is best to sketch out many ideas on paper letting any and all creative ideas flow. Next, choose three of the best ideas that were sketched and create them on the computer using Adobe Illustrator and show them to the client for review. At this point, the client may choose one of the logos and ask for any modifications they would like to see. Once finalized, export the logo in multiple file formats (PNG, JPG, SVG) so that the logo may be used in multiple applications.
How do export an asset in Adobe Illustrator?
First, go to Window - Asset Export to open the Asset Export panel. Then, within your artwork, group all of the elements of an illustration together. To do this, select all of the required objects, and go Object - Group. Then, drag this group into the Asset Export panel and name it appropriately.
How do you set up a document that needs to be print-ready in Adobe InDesign?
1) Ensure that all objects at the edge of the design extend an 1/8" beyond the trim edge. 2) Ensure that all elements are in the CMYK colour mode. To do this, go to File - Package. This screen will indicate if there are any RGB elements or other colour modes within the design. 3) Ensure all links are connected. To do this, check the links Panel to make sure there are no warnings. 4) Ensure all fonts are embedded. If needed, outline any fonts that the printer may not have access to.
