If the demand for a good or service is relatively static even when the price changes, would that be considered to be more of an elastic or inelastic good? Please provide an example of a good or service that is relatively inelastic and one that is relatively elastic and explain why.
If the demand for a product remains static even when the price changes, that good would be considered an inelastic good. An example of an inelastic goods is tap water because it is a necessity and people tend to consume the same quantity regardless of the price they have to pay. Vacations are an example of an elastic good because the overall demand tends to go down as the price goes up.
